Services To Education

There continues to be significant change in education and irrespective of the political party in power that trend is likely to continue.  Whether in the independent or the voluntary aided sector of education, Religious Congregations are in the process of adapting to new situations.  The Education Acts have  raised a number of issues for Trustees

Phillip Jukes Consultants have successfully dealt with a number of transfers of trusteeship between Religious Order Congregations and Diocese in respect of Voluntary Aided Schools.  It is essential to preserve the assets of the Congregation whilst at the same time recognise the need for the Diocese to be able to continue the work originally started by the founding Congregation.

Where Religious convent property remains alongside a former Voluntary Aided school site, it is particularly important to define boundaries and agree terms under which the trusteeship of schools may be transferred.  We can undertake all these negotiations on your behalf.

In the Independent sector a number of Religious Congregations continue to reassess their ability to sustain ownership or management of their schools.  In a number of instances negotiations can be undertaken to set up new charitable trusts with the future of the school being placed in the hands of committed laity.  In other instances painful decisions have to be taken regarding whether or not a school can continue.  The impact of such decision on the local community and parents, pupils and staff is considerable and needs careful implementation.

We can undertake all of these matters on your behalf including the important area of personnel, dealing with trade unions and negotiating with staff.

Phillip Jukes Consultants are able to offer advice to schools on capital bidding and on finance initiatives.  A number of projects have been successfully carried out and increasingly schools in both the independent and maintained sectors will need to rely on their own resources to develop and expand.

In addition to the above we can provide a range of consultancy services relating to preparation for OFSTED, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT and DEVELOPMENT and CAPITAL BIDDING.
